Today we’re making Homemade Turkey Pot Pie with our frozen leftover Thanksgiving turkey. It’s a perfect thing to try if you have even the littlest experience in the kitchen.
Now as with anything we cook we suggest a sort of doing your own thing attitude.
1-2 cups of turkey cubed and precooked
1/2 yellow onion
2 tbls butter
In the video, you’ll notice I cooked the veggies first then added the other stuff.
In a separate skillet melt the butter and then add flour. It’ll start to thicken and then you add the turkey. Mix it up nice and then put the two parts together so it’s a beautiful mess.
The pie crust should be in a baking pan and the oven preheated to 450 degrees F. At this point put the beautiful mess into the pie. The top of the pie will be easy to stick on top and pinch together.
Cook for 15 minutes at 450 then turn the temp down to 350 for another 20 minutes or until the top is crispy brown.
Optional: Salt and Pepper, and an egg wash.
1 egg and some milk. Mix it together and brush on the top. This is one of the most fun things I’ve ever cooked. It’s stupid fun.
